Model selection depends on three main factors: your maximum feed size, target output size (Closed Side Setting), and required hourly throughput. Your feed material should not exceed 85% of the machine's feed opening width. For example, our PE250x400 model handles feed sizes up to 210mm.
For soft to medium stones, standard high-manganese steel like Mn13Cr2 provides reliable service. However, for hard, abrasive materials like basalt or granite, we recommend upgrading to Mn18Cr2 or Mn22Cr2. The added chromium helps the jaw plates work-harden more effectively under high impact, extending their wear life.
First, ensure the cheek plates are properly aligned and securely bolted. Routinely inspect the plates for uneven wear, and clear out fines or packed material behind the jaws. Using water sprays for dust suppression can also help reduce abrasive wear on these parts.
